I’ve never met a child that did not like chicken tenders. Same goes for adults! They’re addictive finger food that we can’t get enough of. However, they can be quite unhealthy as they’re deep fried so we started making our own!
Instead of deep frying in a pot of oil, we simply place them in our Cosori and let them crisp up. Your kids won’t even notice a difference. With only six simple ingredients, you can have this healthy air fryer chicken tenders recipe at home in no time!
Key Ingredients You Need to Make This Recipe
- Chicken Tenders — You can purchase tenders at the store or you can slice your own from breasts. Use what you have on hand.
- Eggs — Large eggs are best. If you only have small eggs, add an extra one as needed.
- Seasoned Breadcrumbs and Panko — Using a mixture gives you extra texture to up the crunch factor of this recipe. If you only have one or the other, feel free to work with what you have.
How to Make Air Fryer Chicken Tenders
Step 1: Season both sides of the chicken tenders with salt and pepper.
Step 2: Prepare 2 shallow bowls — one for the beaten eggs and in the other, combine both the seasoned breadcrumbs and panko together.
Step 3: Place each chicken tender in the beaten eggs and coat all sides and then coat in the breadcrumb mixture, making sure you press gently around the tender so that the crumbs stick. Set aside on a platter or cutting board while you dredge each tender one by one.
Step 4: Next, spray both sides of coated meat with the olive oil spray.
Step 5: Preheat the air fryer to 400°F.
Step 6: Once the fryer is preheated, transfer them into the basket, making sure you don't overcrowd them. You'll have to cook in batches. Cook for 5 minutes on each side until fully cooked and crispy, golden brown. Serve with dipping sauce of your choice and lemon wedges.

These came out fantastic! I might cut the panko/breadcrumbs mix by ¼ cup each next time but otherwise so good.
One question: what should I use for shallow bowls since I only have mixing bowls. Something like a pasta bowl or plate?
